About Me

Hi, my name is Jessica Weir. I'm a certified professional life coach trained at iPEC, Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. I am an introvert and proud to be one. As a naturally soft-spoken person, I understand the struggle to find your own voice. I have a commitment to self-expression, authenticity and honesty.  I'm gentle and kind coupled with a directness and strength in offering powerful insights.  I've got a sense of humor and a big, infectious laugh. I love to read, be at home, in nature and with close friends or other like-minded folks.  I’ve recently getting into doing ceramics. I spend a lot my free time at the studio.

Coaching is my passion. My intuitive strengths and sensitive nature allow me to be of service and help people transform. I know what you're going through, I've probably been there, and I'm here to listen, offer my support as a coach so you can thrive.

I'm originally from a small town in upstate NY.  I've always been quiet, sensitive, intelligent and athletic.  I was an exchange student to France from 17 to 18.  That was a big year for me.  I had to speak up and make mistakes in order to learn French and communicate.  They didn’t think I would stay the whole year because I was so quiet at the start. I stuck it out. Made some life-long friends, explored Europe, and learned to speak French with very little accent. I had a lot of fun too. I’m still fluent, though admittedly rusty.

From there I went to Cornell to become an environmentalist, but I became an actor instead. Which took me to New York City where I went to theater school at The Neighborhood Playhouse. This is where the deep work began for me.  Speech and voice training using the Alexander Technique had a tremendous effect. Allowing me to physically access a more supported and louder voice, which I previously thought wasn't possible.  Acting class was amazing and allowed me to feel my feelings and be more myself than ever before.  Even though I stepped away from acting eventually, I am grateful for the experience and growth.

After 9 years in NYC, I needed a big change and decided to pursue life coaching.  Which was one of the best decisions I've ever made.  Part of that big change was also moving to the west coast for new scenery and a more relaxed vibe. Los Angeles draws people who are seekers. After 6 years in LA, I moved to an even more relaxed area with my partner and I’m enjoying life by the beach.

People often ask me how long I’ve been coaching and I jokingly answer, “all my life”. I’ve technically been a coach for about 7 years. But in a way it’s true, I’ve been a coach my whole life. I have so often been the person people look to for answers, support or guidance in times of difficulty. I always had the best notes in school and knew when the test was. Helping someone else untangle their sticky situation and see it with new perspective is something I’m good at. Supporting people to be less self-critical is incredibly important to me. I know the power of compassion and self-compassion especially. Introspection and self-awareness have always been key traits. My energy or demeanor is also very calm and gentle. Which helps people feel at ease and makes opening up easier.

My interest in personal growth, healing and self-expression is life-long. Growing up and into my early twenties, I was searching for how to make changes and feel better. In seeking and finding those things for myself, I found a real desire and sense of purpose in wanting to share what I’ve learned, the methods and tools that have helped me heal, and to help other people who haven’t come as far in their journey. It was after a coaching course and seminar that I realized I wanted to become a coach myself and to support other people to suffer less and live more whole-hearted lives.

I’ve worked with one-on-one clients and with groups in a workshop setting. Check out some testimonials from former clients.

Right now, I’m taking one-on-one clients. I am available to work with you online through Zoom. The work is just as powerful as in person.
